Wilma Jean Day

Passed from this life on Saturday, October 12, and went on to join her loved ones and her Savior in Heaven, with family and friends by her side. She was born Christmas Day 1947 in Mesa, AZ to Dan and Jean Sims. She was the eldest of five daughters. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Preston Helm. Wilma is survived by her husband, Don Day, her two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle & James Armstrong of Shawnee, Amy & Daniel Young of Tecumseh, her grandchildren Dylan Chambers & wife Kaitlyn of Shawnee and Brooklynn Vaughn of OKC, her two great-grandchildren, Ollie Vaughn and Alice Chambers, her four sisters Carol Alexander, Debbie Kroeker, Peggy Kimer, and Lannia Lewis.

Wilma loved sitting outside laughing, making up funny stories, and spending time with her grandkids. She loved antiques and vintage Victorian furniture. She loved her husband, Don, whom she met on a blind date when they were 15 years old. They remained married for 57 years. Wilma rededicated her life to the Lord at Home Church in Tecumseh in 2024.
