Bill was called home on October 12th, 2022, to be with his Lord and Savior.
He was born March 19th, 1948, in Napa, California. His family moved to Tulsa in 1955 where he attended Elliot Elementary, Wright Jr. High, and graduated in 1966 from Edison High School. He attended John Brown University on a swimming scholarship where he earned four letters. He graduated in 1970. He was a teacher all his life, educating others in many areas and he touched many lives. He loved to coach. He led his swimming teams and volleyball teams to state championships at Booker T Washington High School. Bill was principal at Tulsa Memorial and then Edmond Deer Creek where he retired. He had many interests including sailing, hunting, fly fishing, playing the banjo, and model railroading. Bill was curious about everything and was a true Renaissance man. He never stopped learning or teaching. He was a former a Commodore of Windy Crest Sailing Club.
He is survived by his wife Janie, his daughters Abbagale and Amelia, his brother David and his wife Sheila. Bill is also survived by his stepdaughter, Beth Hartai, her husband, Akos, and two grandsons, who were his favorite fishing buddies, Daniel and Ba’lint.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Bill’s name to Trout Unlimited or the New Hope UMC Food Pantry
