Wanda Jean Green, longtime Oklahoma city resident, died Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Integris Southwest Medical Center at the age of 90.
She was born March 8, 1925 in Grady, Oklahoma to Joe and Mary (Evans) Smith. Wanda married Vernon Miller and he preceded her in death.
Wanda worked at Cattlemen’s Steakhouse for 35 years. She later went to work for the Department of Human Services where she worked as a Health Care Auditor until her retirement.
Wanda was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. She always looked forward to her Tuesday night bible study. She worked in the church nursery for many years.
Wanda loved doing yard work and growing her tomatoes.
Wanda was a very loving and giving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She had a big heart was always willing to help anyone out during a difficult time.
She is survived by her children, Vernon Miller, Jr., Robert Green, Doris Ledford and Rick Green; one brother, Bill Smith; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Wanda was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Judy Ingram; sister, Mary Jo Castle; brothers, Don Smith, Kenneth Smith, Glen Smith, Gwen Smith and an infant brother, Bobby Joe Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church, 4000 S. Agnew, Oklahoma City with Brother Steven Masters officiating. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum at Resthaven Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of OK Cremation and Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
