Virginia Ann (Lemons) Bicknell

Wewoka Resident Virginia Ann Bicknell went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2023.

Virginia was born at home north of Wewoka, Oklahoma on April 23, 1941, to Vernon Wesley Lemons and Anna Laura (Gibson) Lemons. Virginia attended and graduated from Butner High School in 1959. She married James F. Bicknell on September 4th, 1960, in Wewoka, Oklahoma.

Virginia worked at Southwestern Bell, Big Yank, Lillian Russell, Home Daycare, and Moore’s IGA. She enjoyed attending church, sewing, quilting, gardening, and cooking. Her fondest memories were playing basketball at Butner High School. She loved taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years James F. Bicknell, her parents Vernon & Anna Lemons, brothers Dale & Jerry Lemons, sisters Dorothy Turner, Delois Streater, Alice Orr, & Peggy Lemons, nephew Brian Streater, and daughter-in-law Beverly Bicknell.

Virginia is survived by her children Larry & Gary Bicknell of Holdenville, Dennis Bicknell of Wewoka, and Dee (Mark) Wickerd of Shawnee, grandchildren Trish & Mitch Smith, Michael & Amber Jones, Marcus & Stephen Wickerd, great grandchildren Braydon, Gage, Bella, Lucca, Drew, Hutch, Matthew, and Mattylyn, beloved brother Winford (Rugena) Lemons, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
