Sandra Lee Anderson
October 14, 1944 — March 8, 2016
On the evening of March 8, 2016 at 6:24 PM, Sandra Lee Anderson passed away peacefully at Norman Regional Hospital with all her children by her side.
She was born October 14, 1944 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to Otto and Vera (Yon) McKiddie. Sandra was one of nine children. She was raised in the rural area of Sault Ste. Marie, MI by a simple, honest hard working farming parents. Her dad supplemented the household income by working at the local distillery. Sandra often would tell of when the snow was too deep for her and her siblings to walk the one mile trek to the bus stop. Her mother Vera would get the wagon and horse ready and take them by wagon to meet the bus. When Sandra was 11 years old, the distillery closed down. Otto and Vera and their children moved to Belleville, MI.
Sandra and her deceased husband John Anderson moved their family to Oklahoma in 1985.
Sandra is survived by her children, Brenda Leigh (Birkhimer) Newcomb and spouse Mark, Veronica Lynn (Birkhimer) Dunn, David Leroy Birkhimer Jr, and spouse Angela, Douglas Dee Birkhimer and spouse Michelle, Johnny Marchio, Rita Lynn Marchio, Jason William Anderson and spouse Amy; 19 grandchildren, Mark Jr., Chris, Michael, Nathan, April, Brandon, Allysa, Alona, Cody, Doug Jr., Reonna, Haley, Reeva, Logan, Braxton, Brayden, Payton, Isabella and Sandra, who was her namesake; 9 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
