Perry Lee Dauzat of Oklahoma City passed away October 22, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born August 13th, 1939, in Woodsboro, Texas to Henry and Audrey Glassie. She graduated from Galena Park High School in 1956, where her father taught. She was a class representative and on the varsity volleyball team. She married John W. Dale and together they had two daughters. She later married Ronald J. Dauzat and they had one son together.
Perry had a sharp mind and quick-witted humor. Her feisty personality charmed quite a few people throughout her life. She loved to travel and relished in the adventure of new places, which suited her well as an army wife and then as a retail wife. Perry had an amazingly creative eye and she spent her life expressing her artistic vision in many mediums. She was skillful in painting, woodworking, ceramics, embroidery, stained glass, knitting and crocheting. She built beautiful flower gardens. We will run out of superlatives to describe her talents as a seamstress. Early in life she made clothing for herself, and later for her children. However, her final artistic passion was expressed in the over 100 beautiful quilts that she made and donated, gifted, and sold over the years. Perry was very tech savvy for her time and loved purchasing the newest technology. She worked as a bookkeeper and later in database management. She ran a personal blog, where she documented her life, her family’s life, and her art. Perry loved to play games and cards and was very proud to be a Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League.
Perry can finally lay down her earthly burdens and enjoy unlimited Cheetos and Starbucks.
She is preceded in death by her husbands Ron Dauzat and John Dale, and father, Henry Lee Glassie.
Perry is survived by her mother, Audrey Harrison, aged 108; children Summer Goebel and husband Kurt, Dana Bradley and husband Mark, Sammy Dauzat and wife Bobbie; grandchildren Jackson Goebel (Jack), Kyle Goebel (Becky), Kyra Bradley (Dalton VanCoevering), Kathryn Bradley, and Keith Dauzat; and great grandchildren Greyson and Keagan Goebel, and Ashlyn Dauzat; and many dear cousins.
Graveside services will take place at Kenedy Memorial Cemetery in Kenedy Texas on a future date. In lieu of flowers to the service, the family invites you to donate to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a charity that Perry held close to her heart and donated quilts for auction over the years. If you would like to send flowers to the family, please consider Piedmont Florist, 405-373-0072, owned by Perry’s granddaughters.
The family thanks the many caregivers who gave comfort and compassion to Perry in her final days. Rest in peace, Mom.
