Patricia "Pat" Knight passed away at her home Aug 17, 2023, after getting to leave the hospital on her birthday, Aug 14 of this year. She had struggled with multiple chronic illness including COPD and CHF.
She was born August 14, 1956, to Charles and Mary Ann Boyd in the panhandle of Texas. As an only child to military parents, she spent time all over the world, from Germany to the Philippines. As a teenager she had a love for motorcycles, even taking hers apart, mailing it back stateside from the Philippines and reassembled it. After coming back, she stayed in the Texas panhandle for a while, eventually meeting her first son's father and giving birth to a boy Aug 9th, 1978. After some time, she traveled trying to find her place with her young son, eventually ending up in Pampa, Texas. In the late 80s she meets the man who would be her forever love, Carroll Knight and they combined their families and moved to Oklahoma City end of the 80's. Finding a job that put her window facing the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building before the bombing. She was a few blocked away when the bombing happened, and it affected her for well over 20 years. After that she took a job working for the city of Oklahoma City as a neighborhood services inspector, and spent the rest of her professional career there, having to medically retire as a supervisor. She helped start a breed of dog called Carlin punchers, which were also called mini-Rottweilers. She was able to see the breed get to where the first group wanted but due to her health could not continue with the breeding anymore. She loved to play a couple games online. Farmville, candy crush, and Amazon where her favorite online things to do. Her son Jermey was able to give her a grandson, whom she loved dearly as her Facebook albums show. Her and her husband Carroll traveled to the Caribbean a lot and loved Jamaica. She could be stubborn, hardheaded, and passionate about anything at any time, but had the biggest heart and would help who ever she could even if it wasn't good for her. For years she would transport a minivan packed full of kids to and from the country dance club cowboys in the early 90's Friday and Saturday nights. She loved the water, as the summer family reunions where always at lakes in Oklahoma and Texas. That love was passed to her oldest son as well. She was excited to have a great grandchild that's due in September and loved the baby shower even having to watch it on her phone. After her husband had to lose his legs in 2021, she stayed with him, both of them moving to the living room. She did everything she could to help him until both landed in the hospital this year. She was able to get the doctor to send her home on her birthday and had her son take her there and spent the day with him. She was found passed away at home in her recliner, where she wanted to be.
She is survived by her parents, Charles and Mary Ann Boyd, her husband Carroll Knight, her oldest son Jonathan "Wyatt" Langley, middle son Jermey Knight, youngest son Russell Carter, grandson Nolan Knight and a list of cousins and other family members.
