Murlon “Lee” Sharp, 73 of Midwest City, Oklahoma, died on the 8th of November 2024.
Lee was born February 15, 1951 in Midland, Texas to Virge B. and Doris B. (Phelps) Sharp.
Lee enlisted in the United States Marine Corp on March 25, 1968. He was a combat veteran of the Vietnam War. After receiving his Honorable Discharge from the Marine Corp on April 10, 1970, Lee had a short break in service before joining the United States Army in 1975. He retired from the Army in 2001 as Seargent First Class. Lee served in various roles over his long Army career from, infantryman, military police officer, small arms specialist and recruiter. Lee had a deep commitment to his country and his brothers in arms.
Lee was a loyal husband and father. His family was his top priority. His generosity was bigger than life to anyone in need. He enjoyed woodworking, golf and loved spending hours sitting on his porch visiting with family and friends. Lee had a way of always making people feel comfortable and welcomed. He loved telling DAD jokes and making people laugh.
Surviving Lee is his wife of 48 years, Karan Lou (Wilson) Sharp of the home; his four children, Carmon, Charlene, Rob and Brandy; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of other family and friends.
Lee was an amazing man who was a father, brother and friend even when he didn’t have to be!
