Mike Stalnaker, lifelong Maud area resident, died Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Alliance Health Midwest in Midwest City at the age of 60.
Mike was born July 2, 1958 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Kenneth Weldon and Bernice (Fletcher) Stalnaker. He graduated from Maud High School in 1977. Mike married Sharita Kistler on November 25, 1978. Mike and Sharita just celebrated their 40th anniversary with a family vacation to Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
Mike worked for many years in the area oilfields with Stalnaker Oil Company. He later went to work at Enviro in Seminole and was there for over 23 years. Mike was a avid drummer and loved playing music. He could build or fix anything and always kept busy. Mike was a hard worker and dedicated employee always providing for his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his loving wife, children and grandchildren all whom he adored dearly.
Mike is survived by his wife Sharita, of the home; his mother, Bernice of Maud; son, Brandon Stalnaker of Maud; daughter, Shannon Adams of Shawnee; twin sisters, Arlene Parish of Maud and Darlene Burton of Wetumka; grandchildren, Tyler, Sierra, Dillon, Tegun, Kynna, Harper and Gentri; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Stalnaker.
A viewing will take place on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM at Sharon Baptist Church in Shawnee. Memorial services will be held also on Saturday, January 12 at 2:00 PM at Sharon Baptist Church in Shawnee with Pastor Clint Dawkins officiating.
