Mary Ann Person

January 3, 1964 — December 8, 2021

Mary Ann Person was born on January 3rd, 1964 to May Katherine and Jerry Bill Person in Denver, Colorado. Mary Ann gained her wings on December 8th, 2021 at 10:05am at the age of 57, due to AML Leukemia.

Mary was the 2nd oldest out of five children. The oldest being her brother Jerry Jr. (deceased) and her three younger sisters, Annette Dykes (deceased), Shamaela Person, and Belinda Person. Mary Ann was relocated to Brownsville, Tn with her paternal grandparents for a short time. Then In 1977 her step-mother Princess Person (deceased) and Jerry Bill Person, moved Mary, Annette, and Jerry Jr. to Oklahoma.

Mary Ann graduated from Star Spencer High School in 1983 and later met the father of her children.

Mary had three children in total, son Johnathan (deceased), and leaves behind Norman Person of Oklahoma City and Jaquita Person of Texas; as well as three grandchildren, David Long Jr, Jaylynn Person, and Nykyrian Parth Patel.

Mary Ann gave her life to Christ at an early age. Mary Ann loved spending time with her grandson Jaylynn and listening to music. She enjoyed talking with her neighbor Ms. O, and cooking. Her favorite artist was Aretha Franklin. Mary’s dying request was to listen to Aretha Franklins “RESPECT” as her daughter sat by her side.  Mary Ann was a comedian at heart, she really knew how to make people laugh. She was Genuinely high spirited and very direct. However, if she had it and you needed it, it was yours. There were many times she would grill outside and yell for neighbors to “come get you a plate”. As this was just her way! Mary Ann was every bit a part of her community and everyone knew her by name.

Mary Ann leaves to cherish her memories her father, two children, three grandchildren, four nephews, several great nieces & nephews, two sisters and her spouse, Earnest.

On Mary’s final resting day, she was showered with love, by her sister Belinda, son, daughter, grandson Nykyrian and nephew Elijah.  During her final moments, Jaquita sat beside her and held her hand as she transitioned.

Please continue to pray with the family during their time of grief. Amen.
