Mark Wade Hand, 65, of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, in Harrah, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on July 4, 1959, in Pueblo, Colorado, to Louis and Mamie Hand. Mark lived a life defined by resilience, laughter, and a deep commitment to his family. Mark’s journey began with a spark of curiosity, one that would fuel his lifelong passion for welding. He learned the craft as a teenager from his great Uncle Everette and quickly honed his skills. Over the course of more than 50 years, he became a master of trade, known for his precision and ingenuity. But it wasn’t just the work itself that made Mark exceptional—it was his generosity in sharing his knowledge. As a mentor to countless aspiring welders, Mark didn’t just teach techniques; he instilled the values of hard work, integrity, and the importance of supporting one another. Beyond his career, Mark was the embodiment of loyalty and love.
He was a loving father to his two children, Kelley and Reese, and a proud grandfather to young John, who brought him endless joy. He was a constant presence in the lives of his siblings—Steve, Tommy, Shelby, Debbie, and Judy—offering guidance, laughter, and unwavering support.
Mark's legacy extends far beyond his professional achievements. His sense of humor was legendary, lighting up every room he entered, and his dedication to his family was boundless. Mark will be deeply missed but never forgotten, for his influence will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A celebration of Mark's remarkable life will be held on March 29, 2025, at OK Cremation in Oklahoma City. It will be a time to honor not just the man he was, but the relationships he built and the lessons he taught.
