Lupe Griego Barnes, lifelong Oklahoma City resident, passed away December 16, 2020 at Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 86. She was born May 13, 1934 in Oklahoma City to Sylvester and Gracencia (Montoya) Griego.
Our mother was one that danced to the beat of her OWN drum and nobody else’s. She was opinionated but also a talented singer having sang with a jazz band. She was a wonderful artist, drawing the shaking hands on the Friendly National Bank logo. She loved antiques and had an antique shop for 30 years. Lupe loved having a good time. She loved comic books and having a good massage but mostly loved having her feet rubbed! Needless to say it was an adventure having her as a mother.
She is preceded in death by her parents; the husband of her children, James A. Moore; her second husband, Carl E. Barnes and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her brother, Merce Hernandez; her four children, Mary Louise Hartman, James A. Moore, Jr., Elizabeth Grace Ferrell and Joseph A Moore. She proudly had 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of other family and friends.
