Lloyd Eldon Eddy

July 13, 1936 — August 13, 2015

Lloyd Eldon Eddy, resident of Burns Flat, OK, passed into the Lord’s hands on August 13th, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in OKC at the age of 79. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Lloyd was born on July 13th, 1936, in Clinton, OK, to Charles and Pearl Eddy. He attended school in Clinton where he was active in baseball and Golden Glove boxing.
On July 25, 1952, Lloyd married Barbara June Hauff. To this union five children were born. In 1955, Lloyd joined the USAF and served for four years. He was stationed at Tinker Air Force Base, and Warner Robbins Air Force Base in Georgia. After moving back to Oklahoma, Lloyd attended Bethany Nazarene College while working for the Bureau of Reclamation. As a draftsman, Lloyd helped in drawing up the plans for the Foss Reservoir.
After finishing Bible college, Lloyd ministered in Oklahoma, Georgia and Kansas. Upon settling in Burns Flat, OK, Lloyd took a position as an insurance agent until he retired. During this time, Lloyd ministered at Granite prison for several years. Lloyd's hobbies included singing and playing the guitar. Lloyd was a member of the American Legion in Clinton. During this time, he served two years as chaplain and one year as adjutant.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Pearl, his sister Patsy and brother Duane. He is survived by his wife Barbara; 3 sons, Charles Eddy and wife Carol of Burns Flat, Mark Eddy and wife Sylvia of El Paso, TX, Kevin Eddy and wife Nancy of Yukon; 2 daughters, Angela Wright of OKC, Leisha Schneberger and husband Fred of Burns Flat; 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Irvin Eddy and wife Sharon of Custer City, Bobby Eddy of Clinton, OK.  A memorial service will be held on Sat., August 22, 1:30 pm at New Beginnings Assembly of God Church in Cordell, OK.
