Linda Lucille Tannahill-Woodruff

March 29, 1951 — November 3, 2024

Noble

Linda L. Tannahill-Woodruff, age 73, of Noble, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024. Linda Lucille Tannahill was born to Leslie Ralph Tannahill and Lucille (Madison) Tannahill on March 29, 1951, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was the oldest of 6 children to them, and the second oldest to her dad.

Linda graduated from Northeast High School in 1970. She worked at many odd jobs through the years and developed many skills, but her favorite was when she was taking care of others. Linda had a kind heart and loved to make other people feel loved and make them laugh.

Linda enjoyed her family and tried to attend every event. Being able to express her love and pride for each family member individually made her heart so full. She was a constant and consistent presence to all. She took great pride in telling others about the accomplishments of her descendants and then making sure each of those people saw the pictures to make sure they understood how important she thought they all were.

She co-published a book on her family’s genealogy, something she worked on diligently for years. Her daughters can attest to the countless, scary nights stood at cemeteries holding the flashlight so she could research the headstones and record the information. She was certainly in her element during those times. Linda would then hand-write all the information to perfection and would later be able to share it with family members and researchers across the nation.

Linda loved to spend time with her family during holidays, special occasions, and day to day activities. She would always be the first to sign up to make “Grandma’s Macaroni and Cheese” because it filled her heart to know she was carrying on a tradition she learned from her mom. She loved to play games, especially the entirely serious game of Farkle. If you know, you know. She loved flowers and watching the birds and squirrels play. And her claim to fame is that she was Elvis’ greatest fan!

During her last few months, she was an active participant in the Resident Council Meetings. Linda would often step outside of her comfort zone and vocally advocate for others. She stood in unity with new friends, comforted others in their time of need, and suggested new ways to obtain a peaceful lifestyle.

Linda was certainly unique- she was a devoted mother, Mema, sister, daughter, and aunt. She was deeply loved and such an important person to so many people. Her joyful soul touched many lives and affected them in individual, profound ways.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Ralph Tannahill and Lucille (Madison) Tannahill; her brother Frank Tannahill; sister Kathy McFarland; sister Mary Duran; and sister Christie Tannahill. Linda is survived by her sister Shirley Dale and husband Calvin of Guthrie and brother Leslie Tannahill of Guthrie, daughter Jennifer Womack (TJ) of Wayne, daughter Dot Terrill and husband Rusty of Noble, daughter Carolyn Campbell and husband Carl of Wayne, 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
