It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lane Firebaugh, who tragically lost his life in a work accident while in Oklahoma City. Lane was a remarkable man whose spirit touched the hearts of many, and whose legacy will live on in the cherished memories of those who knew him.
Lane was a loving husband to Cathy Hilton, who was his world. Their bond radiated warmth and companionship, creating a home filled with laughter, love, and countless adventures. They spent 38 beautiful years together. He embraced his role as an amazing stepdad to Leila Woodard and Lana Ferguson, guiding and nurturing them with the same dedication and affection he showed to everyone in his life. Lane was not just a stepdad; he was a source of wisdom, support, and encouragement.
As a proud grandfather, Lane delighted in the joy his grandkids brought him. Paige Ember Newsom, Riley Ferguson, Rowan Woodard, and Gus Dye were the light of his life, and he had a unique way of making each of them feel special, creating treasured memories that will last for generations.
Lane leaves behind his brothers, Lyle Firebaugh and Leonard Firebaugh, with whom he shared a bond strengthened by shared experiences and a lifetime of memories. He was also a loving uncle to his nephews, Christopher Firebaugh, Vincent Cortez, Darin Dorethy, John Howarth, Leonard Dean Firebaugh, Sean Firebaugh and nieces Lela Huey, Cathleen Hill, Stacey Villanueuva, Jessica Reyes who admired his generous spirit and looked up to him.
With a servant’s heart, Lane was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kindness and compassion knew no bounds, and he had an extraordinary ability to lift others up, making their burdens lighter. Whether it was a family member in distress or a friend facing challenges, Lane was there, embodying selflessness in everything he did.
Lane had many passions, but his love for motorcycles, travel, and camping stood out. He cherished the moments spent in nature, surrounded by family and friends, creating a sense of adventure and togetherness that defined him. His infectious sense of humor brought joy to every gathering, and his laughter echoed in the hearts of those who knew him. Lane had a unique gift for finding light in dark moments, and his playful spirit will be sorely missed.
As a dedicated auto hauler truck driver, Lane was known for his professionalism and commitment to delivering vehicles safely and efficiently. His work took him across the country, where he built lasting relationships with colleagues and clients alike. Lane took great pride in his role in the transportation industry, and his passion for driving was evident in every journey.
Though Lane may no longer be with us, he will continue to inspire us. He taught us the importance of love, kindness, and humor—lessons that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
