On stardate One-Seventeen-Twenty-Twenty-Five, Kris Masterman left us following a cataclysmic series of health events. He was 43. He is survived by his wife, Erin, and his furry son, Sisko.
Kris was a smart, wonderful, compassionate, nerdy, complex man. He was not predictable, nor would he be pigeon-holed, even as he neared death.
Everyone should remember their fondest memories of Kris -- a cookout, an argument over the best way to season something, playing a game with him, talking Star Trek with him, talking It's Always Sunny with him, talking politics with him...or all of the previous three combined -- take those memories and hold them close.
And, the next time you cast a ballot, criticize a badly designed mail piece, experiment with a green chili pork, watch an episode of Star Trek Next Gen or DS9...or share food with someone on the street, call someone who needs it out of nowhere, or be a shoulder...think of Kris.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter (where we found Sisko) or the Oklahoma Humane Society.
