Jon Francis Flores

Jon Flores was a loving husband and father who passed away after a short illness on May 2, 2024.

Jon was born on April 28, 1953, to Frank and Ana Flores in Falfurrias, Texas. He grew up in Bethany, Oklahoma where he graduated from Putnam City High School. After high school, Jon worked for Evans Furniture where he would meet his wife, Susan. Jon and Susan were married on April 21, 1979, and spent 45 loving years together. They would live and raise two children, who he’d do anything for, in the Oklahoma City area.

Jon spent his career working for General Motors in various departments until the plant closed. After that, he worked for Oklahoma City Public Schools in the print shop before fully retiring in 2013.  

 Jon spent time serving as a scoutmaster for his son’s various Boy Scout troops. Jon was also a lifelong learner and loved trying and teaching himself new hobbies. He learned to restore old cars and restored a 1967 VW Beetle and a 1949 Chevy truck. He also enjoyed leather braiding and welding.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his niece, Angel.

Jon is survived by his wife, Susan; his son Jeff, and wife Willow; and daughter, Andrea; sisters, Carmen (Jack) Jackson and Rosie (Ed) Story and niece Sethe.

There are no services planned, the family will scatter his ashes at a later date, per his request.
