Joahne Marie Ward

Joahne Marie Ward passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on November 19, 2023, at the age of 91.

She was born on February 9, 1932, in St. Paul, Minnesota, and was the youngest of three siblings. Joahne had a passion for reading and worked as a bookkeeper throughout her career. Even in retirement, she continued to share her love for books by volunteering at local bookstores. Known as "Mimi" to most, she enjoyed spending time with her family, telling stories, solving crosswords, and shopping online.

Joahne is survived by her daughters Merrie Whitaker and Memory Petersen of Nebraska, sons Jon Whitaker Sr. of Nebraska and Robert Ward, Jr. of Oklahoma, as well as numerous friends, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ward Sr., son Lane Whitaker, daughter Pamela, and grandson AJ.
