Jerry Don Roberts, age 71, passed away on December 2, 2021. Jerry was born on February 9, 1950 to Floyd and Joyce Roberts. The second of six children, Jerry had many adventures with his siblings growing up in Oklahoma City, creating childhood memories that would last a lifetime. After graduating from Classen High School in 1968, Jerry served in the Army Reserves and then later in the Oklahoma National Guard. Jerry began his career working as a computer operator for Kerr-McGee Corporation and then later for Seagate Technology.
Jerry was loving, always upbeat and had a great laugh. He was also a tad onery and enjoyed joking around with family and friends. Jerry was always willing to lend a helping hand and could often be found doing the dishes after large family gatherings. He enjoyed collecting elephant figurines and pictures, believing them to be a symbol of good luck. Jerry was a person who was full of life, never in a bad mood.
Jerry was loyal and devoted to his family. He loved his daughter Lesley with all his heart. Though he faced many health challenges throughout his life, Jerry’s tenacity allowed him to adjust and overcome these obstacles with grace. Even in the midst of dealing with his own health issues, Jerry cared for his mother in her later years and until her death, which allowed her to stay home instead of going into a nursing home.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Roberts and father, Floyd Roberts. Jerry is survived by his daughter, Lesley Thomas and husband Brian; granddaughter, Alexandria; brothers Randy Roberts and Steve Roberts; and sisters Joy Fitzpatrick, Debi Wiedeman and Barbara Glenn.
