James Michael “Mike” Venters beloved son, brother, husband, uncle and father passed away October 31, 2018 after a lengthy illness.
Mike was born July 9, 1948 to Frank and Catherine Venters.
He was raised and lived in Oklahoma City. He attended Bishop McGuiness High School where he met many life-long and dear friends. He graduated from University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond with a degree in business management.
He will be extremely missed and remembered as an outgoing, joke telling salesman who lived life on his own terms. He never met a stranger. He worked hard in his self-owned medical company, but always had time for golfing, fishing, horse racing and his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Catherine; his son, Jimmy; his wife, Charlotte and one nephew, Timmy Butler.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Venters; sisters, Fran Butler, Margaret Keaton, Kay Laster and his brother, Tony Venters; several nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to the entire team of the Oklahoma Heart North Campus for the overwhelming care and support they gave to Mike and Jennifer the last few months.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 4pm at the OK Cremation and Funeral Home Chapel, 2415 N. Walnut Ave., Oklahoma City.
