James Arthur Babb

James Arthur Babb, longtime Seminole resident, was set free from this life to join his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 10, 2025 surrounded by family at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 76.

James was born May 19,1948 in Buckeye, Arizona to W.A. and Frances May (Jones) Babb. After graduating from Bowlegs High School in 1966, James enlisted in the US Army on December 22, 1967. He served his country in Vietnam and received an Honorable Discharge on September 23, 1970.

In 1973 James began his fire service career at Seminole Fire Department. James had 20 years of service as a Firefighter and was also an EMT from 1977 to 1984. He retired from the fire department in 1993.

James married Carrell Parks on July 10, 1975.

James enjoyed playing golf, fishing and hunting and spending time with family and friends. One of his greatest joys was playing guitar and singing along with his great-grandchildren.

Surviving James are his daughter, Julie Babb and son-in-law, Ronny Yerby of Bowlegs, son, Jarrod Babb and wife Carrie of Earlsboro; son, Jeremy Babb of Seminole; grandchildren, Colton James Eeds, Caley Babb, Cameron Babb, Cashton Babb, Cayden Babb, Jaci Babb, Zoey Babb; great-grandchildren, Cooper Eeds, Kennedi Cavers and Kopelynn Babb Myers; sisters, Carolyn Williams and husband David of Davis, OK, Patricia White and husband Roger White of McLoud, OK, Gayla Palmer and husband Scott of Seminole, OK; brothers, Dale Babb and wife Norma of Seminole, OK, Marty Babb and wife Janet of Ada, OK and Keith Babb and wife Donna of Springer, OK; brother-in-law, Louie Weaver; two sisters-in-law, Dee Babb and Kathy Babb and extended family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, W.A. and Frances Babb; brothers, Bobby Babb, Jerry Babb and Gary Babb and a sister, Virginia Weaver.

A memorial service for James will be held at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of OK Cremation & Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
