On February 1, 2022, Horace Lafayette “Bucket” Butler Sr, husband, father, son and brother and brother-in-law, passed away at the age 88.
Horace was an Air Force veteran who service his country with distinction for 20 years before retiring in 1971. He also ran his own real estate company while living in Virginia. After retiring from the real estate, he moved to Oklahoma with his wife Connie who passed away on December 15, 2017.
Horace will always be remembered by his family with love. He leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Cheryl B. MacDonald, Adrienne Butler; two sons, Horace L. Butler II and Virgil K. Butler; son-in-law John MacDonald; daughters-in-law Joann F. Butler and Heather Butler; sister-in-law Arlene T. Winfield; two nephews, Derek Winfield and Michael Craft, and four nieces, Loretta Hulin, Phyllis Bibb, Renee Jackson and Tawana Tolson. He will also be remembered fondly by his grandchildren Jennifer, Joshua, Shenika, and Whitley; his great grandchildren Jakai, Deion and Jada; and the rest of his family.
Horace was Bucket to Connie, Dad to his children and Lafayette to rest of his family. He had all types of hobbies like wood-working, dream catcher maker, leather tooling, writing poems to his wife, his children, and other family members. He created a cookbook he titled Guys Who Can’t Cook, and authored a book titled USAF Top Jet Ace.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Feed the Children and Disabled American Veterans.
