Harold Dean Spriggs

Harold Dean Spriggs was born on April 17, 1939 in Lamar, Oklahoma to Herbert Zion and Gladys Rose Spriggs. “Dean” went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 1:15 p.m. at his home in Holdenville.

He married Paula Jean McDonald on December 5, 1982 at Gleaners Holiness Church in Wewoka.

Mr. Spriggs was a member of the local 344 Pipefitters Unions for 50 years. He was one that installed all the “pipes” for the Bombing Memorial in Oklahoma City under a private contractor.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Paul David Lucas and Jesse Dean Spriggs; siblings – Lorene Warren Null, J.D. Spriggs, Benny Spriggs and Will Spriggs and two nephews, Herb Warren and Les Warren.

He is survived by his wife, Paula, of the home; Daughters: Amber Spriggs, of the home, Martha Mason, Lawton, Ruth Thompson, Ft. Smith, AR, Casey Brockman and Kathy Babb; Sons: Joshua and his wife, Katy, Holdenville, Jonathan Spriggs, Ada and Ricky and his wife, Monica, Lawton; a sister, Lota Jean Spriggs, Texas; grandchildren: Rick Spriggs, Jr., April Slack, Carl Mason, J.R. Mason, Heather Lucas, Ashley Choate, Isaac and Emily Spriggs, Tiberius Hook, Jett McMahan and Kayden Spriggs; five great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law: Juanita Davenport and husband, Bill of Bokchita, Dorothy Crowder and husband, Tommy of Boxwell and Millie Felice and husband John, Florida and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, plus many, many friends.

Dean loved his family SO much and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and other family members. He loved his wife, Paula, with all of his heart and it showed! But … the love he had for the Lord Jesus Christ, who he faithfully served for 33 years, surpassed all other loves.

Services are under the direction of OK Cremation and Funeral Home, Brent D. Jones, owner/director, 2415 N. Walnut Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73105. There will be a memorial service at a later date.
