Harold Lee Sheppard, longtime Roff area resident, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 at his residence at the age of 64.
He was born June 8, 1951 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Carl C. Sheppard and Katherine Marie (Robertson). Harold attended Roff Public Schools and played on the State Championship Basketball and Baseball Teams during the 1967-68 season.
Harold served in the Oklahoma Army National Guard from 1971 to 1977.
He married Beverly Gayle (Corvin) on May 31, 1986 in Roff. Harold was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed playing bingo and his TV remote.
Harold was a loader operator for Unimin Silica Sand Company in Roff.
Survivors include his wife Gayle of the home; sons, Dustin Sheppard and his wife Christy and Cody Sheppard and his wife Kaycie; daughter, Lori Brooks and husband Tracy; grandchildren, Bradley Hicks, Will Sheppard, Tyler Brooks, Nathan Sheppard, Drew Sheppard, Owen Sheppard and Addison Sheppard; brothers and sisters, Christine Long and husband Roy of Ada, Wanette Morrison of Roff, Jeanie Myers of Shawnee, Glinda Luman of Byars, Norma Parks and husband Joe of Foster, Charles Sheppard and wife Teresa of Roff, Luther White and wife Karen of Sulphur, Eddie Thurman and wife Betty of Roff, Robert White and wife Karen of Ada and Glynell Meddler of Ada; several step and half brothers and sisters and a host of other family and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his father, Carl Sheppard, Sr., mother, Katherine Marie Gahagan, brother, Carl Sheppard, Jr., sister, Sharon Darlene Harper and two granddaughters, Kyndal Sheppard and Bailey Brooks.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Roff with Pastor Fred Huffman and Pastor Tony Folger officiating. Serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Harold’s fellow teammates of the 1968-69 Roff High School State Championship Baseball and Basketball teams.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the 1968 Double State Championship Scholarship Fund, C/O Roff Educational Enrichment Foundation (REEF), P.O. Box 157, Roff, OK 74865.
Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery with services under the direction of OK Cremation and Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
