Glenda Ann (Bennett) Contreras

Glenda Ann Contreras passed away Saturday,  October 12, 2019 in Norman at the age of 80.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Sant Joseph Catholic Church, 421 E. Acres in Norman. Reverend Thomas Nallapatti will be celebrant of the mass and the inurnment will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell OK.

Glenda was born October 17, 1938 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Lester and Robena (McNally) Bennett.

Glenda married Lorenzo (Larry) Nava Contreras in Miami, Arizona on May 24, 1985 and he preceded her in death on July 24, 2003. They were married for 18 years. Glenda enjoyed working in surgical and central supplies for Cobre Valley Community Hospital in Arizona for several years. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Miami food bank as well. Hobbies she loved were cooking, reading, and gardening.

Survivors include two daughters , Cathy Cheek and husband Terry, Sheryl Whittington ; four sons, John Parker and wife Nina, George C. “Buddy” Parker and wife Linda, Brent Mackey and wife Jane and Daniel Parker and wife Lisa; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Bertha Sue Skeryanc and husband Tony along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Glenda was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Geraldine Embree, Joan Yates, and Paula Wall and one brother, Richard Bennett.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are with OK Cremation and Funeral Home Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
