Gilbert Lee Hudson of Seminole, Oklahoma passed away February 26, 2025 at the age of 75 . He was born October 27, 1949 in Chula Vista, California .

Gilbert grew in up in the areas of Choctaw, Coalgate, Muddy Boggy, Stonewall & Konawa. As a teenager, he began working on the Bates ranch making 50 cents an hour. During that time, he helped several family members financially. His responsible nature continued as an adult as he helped raise his grandchildren. He graduated from Konawa High School on May 16, 1967. He married Kathy Hudson on Jan 11, 1969 in Konawa OK. They were married 56 years. He worked for construction companies until his oldest child was born when he moved the family to Shawnee in September of 1969. He worked for Gilt Edge Dairy as a deliveryman for 2 years. On October 7, 1971, after seeing an ad for employment, Gilbert applied and was hired on the spot to become a driver for United Parcel Service. This began his career in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Gilbert maintained his position of delivery driver for about 7 years and then he was promoted to management as a supervisor., In 1982 he became center manager in Stillwater, Oklahoma. During his time as manger over these areas he then also gained more responsibilities as center manager of Ponca City and Shawnee, Oklahoma. During his managerial career, he won many awards for best/ productive centers in the state of Oklahoma. Rarely did Gilbert not achieve being the number one center(s) in the state. Gilbert retired in October 2004. Many of his coworkers commented that he was the best manager they ever had. Gilbert's trophies and accomplishments did not stop with his job. He earned many trophies during his life when he golfed and coached T-Ball.

He had an infectious smile and laugh. Not aware of this attribute, he once asked why do people always talk about my laugh? Gilbert loved his family immensely and was always there ready to help when needed. As a teenager he enjoyed working and building cars and pickups. Other hobbies he enjoyed were golf, hunting, fishing, taxidermy and metal art. As far back to the age of 15 he was so amazing at his artistry, that his father’s boss asked if he could put Gilbert's design of the Limousine bulls on all of the ranch signs and the vehicles. He has designed many pieces of artwork for businesses even as recently as 3 years ago. He loved talking about his childhood including a story about an outdoor shower his dad built with a water hose. Also, about his love of pets including their pet skunk “Stinky” that his dad defumed. Gilbert always had dogs from his youth and anyone that knew that he always had a great love for dogs. As was obvious because he currently had 6 of them and still cared for other people’s dogs as well. He had many family and friends, that loved him and he will be truly missed.

Revelation 21:3,4 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say:

“Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
