Gary Don Lewis

Gary Don Lewis passed away July 29, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 56.

He was born August 14, 1958 in Odessa, Texas to Earl Lloyd and Naomi Joyce (Vann) Lewis.  After graduating high school, Gary enlisted in the United States Navy. He served his country proudly and received an honorable discharge on December 4, 1980.

Gary was a truck driver for Hobby Lobby. Gary often said that he felt whole and at peace while he was moving down the road. He loved riding motorcycles, going fishing and shooting guns. His deepest love was his family, especially his grandchildren and his Angel. He was a member of the Cherokee Nation.

Gary is survived by son, Christopher Shearin and wife Candie, their children Anthony Middlemiss, Michael Shearin and Tara Shearin; daughter, Kristi O’Neill, her children Dylan Skeen and Sarah, Dustyn Skeen, Bailey Stokes and Ryder Giza; Christopher O’Neill and his children Shelby, Sheldon and Hannah O’Neill; four brothers, LD and Doris Lewis and family, Jerry Lewis and family, Roger and Pat Lewis and family and Tony Lewis and family; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Naomi Lewis; daughter, Vanessa; son, Jamey; grandmother, Mable Hawkins and grandfather, Everett Vann.

Gary’s final word to his loving family is “Gallawada”

Memorial services will be held on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Covenant Hope Fellowship in McLoud, OK. Pastor Doug Parker and Casey McDaniels will be officiating.

Honorary bearers will be Lee Sabrsula, David Griffin, Deacon Crews, Scott Stewart, Tyler Word and Edgar Macias.

Services are under the direction of OK Cremation and Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
