Gary R. Hockensmith, 72 years of age living in Yukon, OK, passed away May 14, 2016 at Integris Hospice House. He left this earth peacefully while surrounded by his loved ones.
Gary was born in Liberal, KS, joined the Airforce at 18 years of age and had longtime careers in both Aviation and Law Enforcement. He retired at the age of 68 in Yukon, OK and loved spending time with his wife of almost 50 years [Kari], sweet puppy Lilly and countless hours reading, researching and sharing anything having to do with Aviation. He was strong in his faith and walk with God and comfortable knowing the Lord’s house was waiting patiently to welcome him home with open arms.
“but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31“
He leaves behind his wife, Kari Hockensmith, his sister, June Brooks, his three daughters, Gay Sansone [Dominic], Lisa Kirk [Chad] and Shelly Ward [Todd], his eight grandchildren, Sara [Tim], Christopher [Kylie], Megan [Ryan], Michael [Jennifer], Christi [Mark], Richard, Graham, Chaz and Alyssa [Travis], three great-grandchildren, Syler, Max and Sloan and many wonderfully loved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
