Fred "Ken" Kendall Flaniken
December 30, 1947 — August 24, 2015
Fred Kendall “Ken Boy” Flaniken, 68 years old, passed away August 24, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City following an extended period of illness. He was born December 30, 1947 in Lamesa, Texas to the late Fred Merrill and Melva (Fisher) Flaniken.
He is survived by one brother, Robert “Bob” Flaniken and Bob’s son, Jordan Flaniken and his son, Sam of Edmond and other relatives and friends.
Ken Boy was a proud U.S. Veteran serving in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps. Before his death, he lived at Fidelas Assisted Living Care in Oklahoma City until his health required his admission to the VA Hospital.
Ken was as astute student of the Bible, capable of reciting most of it from memory.
He graduated from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas in 1970. Ken Boy was never married but loved his nephews, nieces and extended family.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 2:00 PM at OK Cremation and Funeral Home Chapel in Oklahoma City.
