Freddy Gene Carpenter, longtime Vamoosa and Konawa area resident, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015 at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 63.

He was born February 6, 1952 in Ulysses, Kansas to Wanda (Goodrich). Freddy graduated from Konawa High School.

He married Cindy (Huff) on April 29, 1979 in Cottonwood, Oklahoma down in Coal County. He was a welder for many years having helped build many oil rigs. Freddy later went to work for Seminole County District 1 as a truck driver and later transferred to Pottawatomie County District 3. He was loved and respected by his co-workers.

Freddy loved to go fishing and always looked forward to going with his any of his fishing buddies.  He enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and all the westerns on TV even though he had seen them all several times.  Freddy loved cooking for people and became well known for his famous “Freddy Burgers”.  But his greatest passion was the love of his life, Cindy, with whom he cherished 37 years.

Freddy is survived by his wife, Cindy of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law, Shawn Timothy and Tasha Green of Asher and Jeremy Christopher Green of Konawa; grandchildren, Mick Dylan, Checotah, Chaz and Chayla; uncles, E.E. Goodrich and wife Gloria of Konawa and J.T. Clark of Belen, NM; special brother, Al Boisennin; several cousins and a host of other family and friends. Last but not least, Freddy leaves behind his babies, “Sassy”, “Taz”, “Boudreaux” and “Rascal”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl “Cotton” and Wanda Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Konawa High School Performing Arts Center with Bro. Ed Bray, Pastor Drew Isaacs and Richard Winters officiating.

Pallbearers will be Bert Harris, Bo Harris, Darrell Huff, Brad Huff, Brady Huff, David Green and Devin Smith. Honorary bearers will be Freddy’s co-workers and friends.

A viewing will take place before the service on Tuesday at the Konawa High School PAC.

Services are under the direction of OK Cremation and Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
