Duc Thanh Nguyen passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, April 6, 2025. He was born on July 2, 1968, in Khanh Hoa, Nha Trang, Vietnam, to the late Lan Thi Nguyen and John A. Moyer. P devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Duc Thanh will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, including his Amerasian brothers and sisters and many dear friends. He was a proud Catholic and a dedicated member of the Pastoral Council for over 20 years. Duc Thanh had a deep love for music and dancing, and he found great joy in spending time with his family and community.
He was born and raised in Vietnam for 55 years. His father, John Moyer, a U.S. Vietnam War veteran, met Duc Thanh's mother during the war. As a child of both American and Vietnamese heritage, Duc Thanh later immigrated to the United States in 2023 under the Amerasian Homecoming Act of 1987, settling in Oklahoma City alongside fellow Amerasians Duc Thanh married Cuoc Thi Le in 1990, and together they built a life grounded in love and resilience.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cuoc Thi Le of Oklahoma; his daughter, Phuong Kim Thi Nguyen and her husband Cuong: and his sons, Dai Van Nguyen and his wife Ngoc, and Tan Huu Nguyen - all of Khanh Hoa, Vietnam. He also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren
