Dale Richard Hampton, 75, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at his home in Oklahoma City.
Dale was born on Oct. 29, 1945, in Miami Beach, Fla., to Harvey Dale and Leona Hampton. He grew up in Wichita, Kan., where he graduated from Wichita High School South and briefly attended Wichita State University before joining the U.S. Air Force and training to become an electronics technician.
On June 24, 1967, he married Shirley Jeanne Duty in Wichita. They settled in Oklahoma City after he was honorably discharged in December 1968.
Dale was an avid churchgoer with a love of music, photography and woodcarving, among other interests. Before retiring in 2005, he worked in a variety of roles, including medical equipment installation, computer repair, and professional portrait and event photography.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Dale and Leona Hampton. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Dulcey Ruark and her husband John; daughter, Brooke Rosen; son, Drew Hampton; sister, Barbara Walpole; and five grandchildren: Parker and Bailey Greenlee, and Hannah, Elijah and Leah Rosen.
