Brian Andre Burdex

March 31, 1969 — August 5, 2016

Brian Andre Burdex was born to Carl and Cynthia Burdex on March 31, 1969 in Oklahoma City.  Brian attended Crooked Oak School from kindergarten to 9th grade, later going to Northwest Classen and graduating from Frederick Douglass High School in 1987. Brian was an active athlete and honor student.  After graduating high school, he attended Langston University where he played football.

He grew up in Wildewood Baptist Church where he gave his life to Christ and became an usher. He later attended Fruit of the Spirit in Spencer, Oklahoma were he became a deacon.  His career was working with behavior challenged and special needs children at Betty Chase, High Point and Hillcrest; he then went on to work for Cedar Point in Oklahoma City until his stroke in 2008.

Brian enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, playing dominoes, horseback riding, rodeos and sporting events. He loved talking trash as well as calling people’s children “monkey”.

Brian leaves to cherish in his memories his mother Cynthia A. Burdex, Bonnie A. Bryson-Levy (Step Mother), 3 brothers Carl A. Burdex (Annette), Tony A. Bryson, Jerome “Pooh” Bryson (Malinda), 2 sisters Valerie L. Burdex and Shanica S. Burdex and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Brian was proceeded in death by his father Carl A. Burdex and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Wildewood Baptist Church in Oklahoma City with Rev. Will Slaughter officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko with services under the direction of OK Cremation and Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
