Brenda Pauline Moore Jackson, age 72 of Wewoka, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, surrounded by family.
Brenda was born in Henryetta, Oklahoma on August 30, 1952, to Ernest and Mildred (Jones) Moore.
Brenda graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1970 and worked at Moore’s IGA in Wewoka, Oklahoma, for over forty years. She then went on to work for Wewoka Public Schools for six years.
Brenda was well known for her cooking and she took great joy in providing delicious meals for anyone and everyone. Brenda was a member of the Rotary and Garden Club. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Brenda will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life and not the sadness of her passing.
Brenda was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Zoie Johnson, and her father, Ernest Moore. Those surviving to cherish her memory are her mother, Mildred Moore of Wewoka, OK; her husband, Wayne Jackson of Wewoka, OK; her sister, Donna Grissom of Wewoka, OK; her brother, Ron Moore and his wife, Cathy, of Sulpher, OK; her twin daughters Angela Tison of Wewoka, OK and Andrea Hendrix and her husband, Michael Joe, of Amarillo, TX; her daughter, Lora Steinman and her husband, Matt, of Nampa, ID; her son, Jason Barker of Wewoka, OK; her grandchildren, Kiersten, Hennessey, Kolbi, Sean, Zayne, Arwen, Caden, Olivia, Mikhail, and Emmalee; a great granddaughter, Luna; one great granddaughter on the way; and Brenda’s best friend for more than 50 years, Brenda Faye Brown.
A memorial will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the First Church of God, 624 East Main Street, in Holdenville. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the First Church of God in Holdenville.
