Betty Lou (Coursey) Mills was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on June 19th, 1939 and went to be with the Lord on April 2nd, 2016.
She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and loved cooking family dinners. Betty enjoyed playing any board game such as Yahtzee but with the exception of Monopoly. She also liked to listen to Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton and loved her stuff animals.
Betty’s most heard “Mom Quote” in the last month from those who love her was “we have to be nice to everybody.” Our mother was a very simple woman. You being happy made her happy.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Faye Marie (Jefferson) Coursey; her father, James Garland Coursey; her brother, Joe Thomas Coursey; her stepdaughter, Angie (Mills) McCarney; and her husband of 30 years, Sherman U. Mills.
Betty is survived by her children. Donnie Joe Moore, Jerry O’Dell Moore and wife Leona Meza, Teresa Marie (Moore) Hill and husband Charlie, Lesa Margaret Moore, Byron Petty “Butch” Moore, III and wife Debbie, Jamie Charlene (Moore) Spencer and husband Jason, their father, Byron P. Moore, Jr. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Kim (Mills) Cryer, Billy Mills, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is and will forever be missed.
