Addie “Muriel” Pemberton, lifelong Seminole area resident, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Shawnee at the age of 88.
Muriel was born October 2, 1928 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to George and Ethel (Arnold) Stafford. She started her career as a beautician that lasted for many years. She later went to work for Wrangler in Seminole for 20 years, retiring at the age of 72. Muriel was a devoted mother of three children, grandmother (Nanny) and great-grandmother to many. She loved going to the casino and playing Bingo.
Muriel is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Vicki Hamilton; five brothers and two sisters.
Muriel is survived by her twin sister, Pearl Smith of Woodward, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Becky Pemberton of Konawa, OK; daughter, Gayla Lawson and fiance’ Darrell Stout of Eufaula, OK; son-in-law, Brian Hamilton of Eufaula, OK; 10 grandchildren, host of great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, a special nephew, Danny Stafford of Ada, OK and many other nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in St. Louis, OK. On Mother’s Day 2017 Muriel rededicated her life to Christ and joined First Baptist Church in St. Louis.
