Ricky Dean Montgomery, longtime Oklahoma City resident, passed away Monday, November 9, 2020 at Cornerstone Specialty Hospital in Shawnee at the age of 75.
Rick was born August 5, 1945 in Altus, Oklahoma to Troy Cecil and Juanita Louella (Thrash) Montgomery. He graduated from U.S. Grant High School. Rick later enlisted in the US Air Force and received an honorable discharge. Shortly after he began his career at Tinker Field where he retired in March 1993 after over 25 years of service as a Jet Engine Machinist. He enjoyed building and racing hot rods and had also built a couple dune buggies. He loved tinkering on things and would always turn a profit on his builds. Rick loved riding motorcycles with his cousin and friends. He also enjoyed spending time on his farmland and had about every farm animal imaginable.
Survivors include his two sisters, Beverly Ransom of Oklahoma City and Pamela Mason and husband Calvin of Tryon, OK; nieces and nephews, Heather Rainer and husband Kyle, Misty Menser and husband Justin, Andrea Mollet and husband Tyler, Sean Ransom, Brandon Mason and wife Bridget; Ryan Ransom, Kyle Ransom, Chad Ransom and wife Samantha and Calyn and Booker Mason; several great-nieces and nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Michael Ransom.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 2:00pm at OK Cremation & Funeral Home Chapel, Oklahoma City with Minister Richie Martin officiating.
